The Power of Choosing Yourself

Clarity, Investment, and the Life That Follows

There was a time in my life when I felt like I was doing all the right things.  Showing up,  supporting others, checking the boxes…  But internally, something felt off.

Not dramatically wrong. Just unclear.  Unbalanced.

I didn’t fully know what I wanted. And because of that, I couldn’t fully show up for my life in the way I was capable of.

Clarity Changes Everything

What I’ve come to understand, both through my own journey and the women I work with, is this:  You can’t create a life you love if you’re unclear about what you actually want.  Clarity isn’t just a nice idea.  It’s the foundation for everything.

Clarity shapes your decisions.  It guides your energy.  It determines what you say yes to, and what you finally feel confident saying no to.

So many women move through life without ever giving themselves the space to truly ask:  What do I want?  Not what’s expected.  Not what looks good.  Not what feels safe, but what is true.

Why Investing in Yourself Matters

I have shared that I thought I was supposed to be selfless and give of myself to others.  I didn’t understand that in doing so I was depleting myself and my ability to serve people as best I can.  Getting to that level of clarity about what I wanted and how I wanted to feel didn’t happen by accident for me.  It happened because I made a decision again and again, to invest in myself.

I invested my time.  With my energy.  And yes, even with my money.

And I’ll be honest.  There were moments when it felt uncomfortable.  Moments where I questioned if it was “worth it.”  Moments I questioned if I deserved it.  Moments where it would have been easier to stay where I was.

But every single time I chose to invest in myself, I was also choosing something deeper.  I chose growth.  I chose expansion.  I chose a different future and a happier, stronger, more grounded version of me.

Because here’s the truth.  We rarely value what we don’t invest in.  When you invest in yourself, you show yourself that you matter.  You are making a statement that your growth, your happiness, and your life are worth prioritizing.

I will say more about this next time.  For now, take a few moments to reflect…

Clarity

  1. What do I truly want in this season of my life if I remove expectations, fear, and outside opinions?

  2. Where in my life am I feeling unclear, and how is that impacting my decisions or energy?

  3. What would my life look like if I trusted myself fully?

Investment in Self
4. In what ways am I currently investing in myself? Where am I holding back?
5. What beliefs do I have about spending time, energy, or money on my own growth?
6. If I saw myself as my greatest asset, what would I start doing differently?
