Ask the Universe
Have you ever made a plan that sounded perfect, full proof, well thought out, yet you couldn’t/didn’t execute it? What gets in the way of our good intentions? Fear, fatigue, over scheduling… I thought I would post my next blog after school got out. I planned some PR for my coaching business and planned to make some contacts. I have been out for two weeks, and I had to make myself sit down to write tonight. I’d planned a different topic, but the words weren’t coming. My usual process is that I experience something, learn something, share the story and write the blog. I have learned many lessons these last few weeks, but for some reason, the blog was not coming. And then I remembered something that happened this weekend and it seemed important to share.
What if life could be easy? What if, instead of ruminating over decisions, communications and what’s next, you could move forward with ease. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, blocked, uncertain about work, a relationship or what’s next… Or like you're carrying something heavy that you just don’t know how to handle, play along with me right now. Let’s simplify everything.
Close your eyes if that would be comfortable. Place a hand on your heart and a hand on your belly, breathe and say “I am open to receiving guidance from the Universe.”
That phrase alone, “I am open to receiving guidance from the Universe” sends a clear message: I don’t have to do this alone.
Hand it over. Step back and allow a greater wisdom to step in. You don’t need to force anything. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to do it the ‘right’ way, or be flawless in the process. Honestly, this is how I moved through the uncertainty of my divorce (with ease, I might add;)
The words for my blog weren’t coming because I was forcing something that wasn't what I was supposed to write. I surrendered to the Universe. The effort wasn’t made because I was exhausted. So I had some fun. I moved my body and got some rest And then, ease came, like a supportive friend.
I took a journal to a beautiful rock overlooking a waterfall. I had a lot on my mind about what I wanted for the summer, for the next few years, who I was spending my time with. I wrote, and wrote and wrote. I wrote about different situations. What I was thinking, how it made me feel, and then I asked what those feelings were trying to tell me. This was not easy, but I felt lighter when I was done.
There were two situations that I wanted clarity on. For my coaching business, I did this. I asked for guidance from the Universe. The next time you feel stuck, commit to this practice. Set a duration. 3 days, 7 days, 30 days. Every morning, start your day with this intention: “Universe, I am not sure about _______________, I am open to receiving guidance from the universe.”
And then, stay open. Pay attention. Because once you ask for support, it begins to show up. The signs will come. Sometimes in small, almost magical ways (see next weeks post). Maybe you hear dialog in a show or movie that inspires you or helps you see something more clearly. A friend sends you a podcast that addresses something you have been dealing with. You randomly pick up a book that speaks directly to your situation. Or maybe a friend unexpectedly says exactly what you needed to hear. Even a random social media post or ad can seem oddly perfect for what you’re going through.
The Universe responds to your energy and what you focus your thoughts on. When you stop trying to control everything and instead invite support, you create space for answers to reach you.
Most of us are taught to hustle, to grind, to push through. This is how I was feeling about posting the blog, but that mindset can actually block what we’re seeking. We get in our own way by overthinking, overplanning, and overdoing. We try to force solutions instead of trusting the process. I know, I am a master of this.
But here's the truth. You don’t have to push. You don’t have to grind. You can live life with ease. Be open, trust the signs and allow life to unfold.
I will talk more about asking for signs next week. For now, let me say that later that night, after journaling, I got a notification that someone signed up for a Clarity Call. (That fast, I know)! We met Monday and he signed later that day! My goal was to sign a new client. I didn’t do ANY of the things I thought I needed to do. I played, rested and connected. Oh, and had faith. And, I obtained my goal.
I will save the other story for next week. Until then, trust that the Universe has a plan greater than you can imagine, and when you stop forcing and “Get Out The Way” (imagine Ludacris’s voice) life will unfold with ease.
Much Love,
Traci
